Summary: The Planning Engineer plays a pivotal role in the development, agreement, and delivery of detailed planning requirements for specific Manufacturing Zones/Technologies, spanning from Pre-series to End of Production (EOP). This role is crucial in ensuring alignment with Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets while upholding Health and Safety, IATF16949, and standards compliance. Suitable candidates will have experience in the automotive, aerospace or product assembly sectors.

Main Responsibilities:

Technical:

  • Evaluate Manufacturing Feasibility in alignment with PEP.
  • Lead Quality Planning (APQP) processes ensuring audit compliance.
  • Sign-off Bid specs and product B-release in accordance with project timelines.
  • Identify Facility, Jig, Fixture, and Tooling requirements.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge through training.
  • Develop equipment and process settings/parameters.
  • Implement engineering change.
  • Manage permits and concessions.
  • Lead issue resolution, driving cross-functional collaboration for effective problem-solving.

Planning:

  • Align responses to Business requirements, Engineering change, and technical documentation.
  • Generate deliverable milestones and monitor detailed Project plans.
  • Collaborate closely with other manufacturing areas.
  • Analyse specific technology measurements and controls.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate project risks.
  • Deliver processes within agreed budget targets.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives to optimise operating expenses.

Key Competencies & Qualifications:

Skills & Experience:

  • Equivalent Degree level (preferably Engineering/Manufacturing/Science).
  • Technical proficiency in product assembly, process design, facilities, and standardised work methodology.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration within Manufacturing or Production environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, including Health & Safety.
  • Proficiency in Continuous Improvement methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and measurement data.
  • Familiarity with the Product Emergence Process and associated deliverables.
  • Extensive expertise in Problem Solving Techniques and dimensional management analysis.
  • Proficiency in evaluating K and P times aligned with Manufacturing Business Strategy.
