Vehicle Development Technician required to join a Global OEM of luxury performance vehicles based in Woking.

Our client is an automotive luxury brand with a global reputation for producing high-performance vehicles. Working with some of the most iconic designs, they push the boundaries of automotive engineering and innovation.

The Vehicle Development Technician will play a key role in assembling, maintaining, and preparing development vehicles and test rigs for multi-project programmes. This role will involve supporting testing and development activities across various locations, including industry proving grounds and racing circuits.

Role of the Vehicle Development Technician:

  • Build concept, mule, prototype, and production-level vehicles and simulation rigs to the highest standards using specified processes.
  • Maintain and update vehicles and rigs to support ongoing development programmes.
  • Prepare and operate vehicles for test and development activities at multiple locations, including off-site UK, European, and occasional worldwide testing.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to establish and achieve specifications and targets.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules to ensure accurate builds, modifications, and updates.
  • Ensure the workshop and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
  • Subject to meeting internal driving standards, operate high-value, high-performance vehicles in workshop, road, and testing environments.

Experience of the Vehicle Development Technician:

  • Extensive experience in motorsport, prototype, low-volume, or high-performance vehicle builds, including manufacturing, assembly, and operation.
  • Welding, machining, and fabrication skills are desirable.
  • Knowledge of modern automotive electrical and electronic systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults, would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic platforms such as MONaco, CANape, and INCA is desirable.
  • Full clean driving licence and valid passport.
  • IT proficiency in various software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite and Virtual Car.

Please note, this role is deemed inside of IR35. The Umbrella Pay Rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitments contribution towards Employer Costs.
