Role Summary
The Regulations Management & Interpretation role is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and embedding global automotive regulations into vehicle engineering programmes. As Regulations Management & Interpretation, you will translate complex regulatory frameworks into clear engineering requirements, ensuring compliance throughout the full product lifecycle.
Role & Responsibilities
• Lead Regulations Management & Interpretation activities by monitoring and interpreting global automotive regulations including UNECE, FMVSS, GSR, and ISO standards.
• Translate regulatory texts into clear, actionable engineering requirements with full lifecycle ownership and traceability.
• Act as the primary interface between regulatory bodies, legal teams, and engineering functions.
• Support programme teams with compliance planning, feature delivery timing, validation strategies, and documentation.
• Track regulatory changes and assess impacts on current and future vehicle programmes.
• Manage updates to requirements and communicate regulatory changes effectively across stakeholders.
• Collaborate with systems engineering teams to integrate regulatory requirements into system architectures and V-model validation plans.
• Prepare and maintain documentation to support certification and homologation activities.
Requirements Of The Role
• Strong experience interpreting and applying automotive regulations within an engineering environment.
• Proven experience authoring, managing, and owning technical requirements.
• Background working with EU, UNECE, FMVSS, and ISO regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using requirements management tools such as Dassault TRM or IBM DOORS.
• Good understanding of systems engineering principles and V-model development processes.
• Degree-qualified at graduate or postgraduate level in an engineering discipline.
• Desirable experience in vehicle homologation or certification activities.
• Desirable knowledge of feature development and integration within automotive systems.
