The first signs of normality returning? Jaguar Land Rover announces the re-opening of their largest plants

Good news for the Midlands region

Good news for the Midlands region with the news that Jaguar Land Rover is planning to start reopening its largest plants around the globe in May http://tiny.cc/s76onz. This is a much-needed boost for Warwickshire and the West Midlands with so much of the area being dependent on the automotive sector as both a primary provider of jobs but also to the automotive supply chain which again is a huge employer across the region.

With Apex Recruitment being a specialist within the automotive sector this is very welcome news and we are very optimistic about the opportunities that will be presented to job seekers post coronavirus. The recruitment sector tends to be one of the first to be impacted by a downturn in the economy, however, with the expected “V” shaped recession (quick and deep followed by an equally sharp rise) this will present job seekers with new opportunities. Initially, the expectation would be for temporary and contract staff to be needed to assist businesses and organisations that have orders and production targets that need to be fulfilled. This short to medium-term demand will hopefully then lead us to a period of growth in permanent roles whereby companies become more confident regarding their future and are able to commit to permanent hiring

I think that this period has been a time of great frustration. Having negotiated 2019 and all that Brexit could throw at us, 2020 had started very strongly for Apex and we had secured three new deals with multi-million-pound companies that were seeing us experience significant growth.  Coronavirus has put a temporary halt to this charge, however, fingers crossed this will be a short-term impact and we can all get back to some form of normality sooner rather than later. This represents great news for Warwickshire, the Midlands, and the Nation as a whole. Onwards and (hopefully) upwards!
