We’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a growing, forward-thinking automotive business based onsite near Daventry, Northamptonshire on a Full-time or Part-time basis!

Are you the person everyone turns to when payroll needs to run like clockwork?

Do you take pride in getting the details right — every decimal, deduction, and deadline?

If you’re looking for a role where your accuracy and initiative truly make a difference, this could be the perfect next step. We can offer full-time or part-time hours to suit the right person! As part of a close-knit finance team, you’ll be trusted to take ownership of the UK payroll process while contributing to a busy, evolving department that values collaboration and progression.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist who thrives in a smaller team environment — where your ideas are heard, and your work directly impacts the success of the business.

What you’ll do as the Payroll Specialist

  • Run and administer monthly payroll for UK employees (circa 250), ensuring total accuracy and compliance
  • Be the go-to person for all payroll and pension queries in-person, over email and via phone
  • Liaise with HMRC on PAYE and tax queries, resolving any discrepancies quickly
  • Administer the company’s pension scheme and manage employee queries
  • Prepare month-end payroll journals and assist with reconciliations
  • Collaborate with HR to process overtime, absences, and benefits
  • Support expense and contractor payments, maintaining organised records
  • Keep systems and processes aligned with the latest legislation and best practice

Who we’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ experience in a payroll function
  • Confident communicator who enjoys working with people across all levels
  • Strong attention to detail, with a methodical and proactive approach
  • Comfortable using payroll systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Payroll qualification desirable but not essential — experience counts too!

Why join?

You’ll be joining a progressive company in an exciting phase of growth, with opportunities to develop your skills and take on new responsibilities as the business expands and benefitting from a market-lead salary guided by your experience and expectations. If you value teamwork, autonomy, and variety in your role, you’ll feel right at home here.
