Maintenance Technician
Location: Solihull
Shifts: 3-shift rotation
Rates: £32.10 – £39.32 per hour (Umbrella), depending on shifts


A world-leading automotive manufacturer in Solihull is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to support the production of prestige motor vehicles. The role begins on a contract basis, with the potential to progress to a permanent position after a minimum of 6 months.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide essential engineering maintenance support to maximise uptime and efficiency across advanced manufacturing systems, including roboticsweldingconveyors, and tooling. Key duties include:

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on plant and equipment
  • Rapid fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
  • Supporting continuous improvementKaizen5S and lean activities
  • Maintaining compliance with PUWER and safety standards
  • Delivering technical expertise to problem-solving initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering Maintenance
  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance background
  • Proven experience in fault-finding, repair, and preventive maintenance
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Proactive, flexible and able to work rotating shifts

Desirable experience: Robotics (ABB)PLCs (Allen-Bradley)automationconveyorswelding systemsCMMS platforms, and lean methodologies (TPM, Kaizen, PPS).
