Location: Hybrid (2 days on-site at Crewe Campus, flexible days)
Contract: Full-time contract, Outside IR35

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a Connected Car Portfolio Specialist to join the Connected Car R&D portfolio planning team. Reporting to the Portfolio Strategy & Planning Manager, this role will focus on delivering competitive connected car service portfolios and providing strategic, customer-driven portfolio growth proposals. You will also play a key role in improving the portfolio management process, specifically within the pre-PEP/PEP stages, by ensuring alignment across business and technical stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the emerging sector of connected cars, directly influencing future vehicle features and customer experiences.


Main Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the Connected Car Portfolio Specialist roadmap (including CC portfolio tracker), decision track, and new initiatives
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment through pre-framing analysis on technical and market data
  • Manage connected car requirements pipeline (on-board & off-board), prioritising and triaging for portfolio build
  • Coordinate with functional and business owners to identify portfolio gaps (MY29-30), analyse product-market fit, and support EPIC backlog (bi-weekly)
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and feature analysis, including regional insights (e.g. China)
  • Lead the Connected Car Innovation Hub by gathering inputs, documentation, and prioritisation
  • Support the Bi-weekly Lean Portfolio Management forum, setting the agenda, organising meetings, and maintaining action logs

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in customer data analysis, process design, and requirements management
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Experience with digital innovation frameworks or product discovery methods
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Economics, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in product planning and program management within the automotive sector, with a focus on digitalisation and electrification
  • Prior experience converting customer and business insights into tangible technical solutions
  • Broad knowledge of connected car technology and market trends
  • Proven ability to synthesise information across functions and solve complex problems
