This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CFD Simulation Engineer to join a prestigious and forward-thinking automotive manufacturer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the simulation, analysis, and reporting of thermal systems across a variety of powertrains, including BEV, PHEV, and ICE.

As a CFD Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering 3D CFD simulations that influence the development of thermal management systems and ensure component durability. You will work collaboratively across departments and with Group partners to inform system owners of simulation outcomes and support end-to-end engineering development.

Key Responsibilities of the CFD Simulation Engineer:
• Perform 3D CFD simulations to assess and improve vehicle thermal management systems and ensure component thermal durability for BEV, PHEV, and ICE powertrains.
• Manage and deliver simulation projects from initiation through to reporting, ensuring results are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, product management, and manufacturing to drive timely and efficient project outcomes.
• Identify and resolve complex design-related challenges through data-driven problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Develop reports, presentations, and technical documentation that contribute to internal design guidelines and cross-functional understanding.

Skills & Experience Required for the CFD Simulation Engineer role:
• Experience using PowerFLOW, PowerTHERM, PowerDELTA, and ANSA for CFD and thermal simulation.
• Proven ability to manage simulation projects from build to delivery, with a strong understanding of airflow, thermal performance, and heat transfer mechanisms.
• Experience in thermal management system development and analysis within the automotive or similar engineering sectors.
• Strong communication skills to present findings and implications to system owners and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of tool chains and workflows – able to work independently with simulation software.

Qualifications:
• Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

This contract presents an exciting chance to apply advanced simulation skills in a high-impact automotive setting. If you’re a proactive CFD Simulation Engineer with deep expertise in CFD tools and a passion for thermal system development, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to innovative, future-focused vehicle programmes.
