Zone Integration Lead Engineer required on a full time, contract basis in Gaydon, benefitting from an hourly rate of £30.00 – £32.00 per hour depending on previous experience. (Inside IR35)

They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Zone Integration Lead Engineer to join their team. This role is offered on a contract basis with the potential for further contract extensions for the right candidate.

KEY SKILLS

  • Well versed knowledge of vehicle types, propulsion systems and sub systems,
  • Experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict,
  • CATIA V5 & V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration. (Other 3D CAD experience will be considered).


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Zone Integration is responsible for the full vehicle Geometric integration while balancing System and Attribute performance from concept to end of life, across all products,
  • Zone Integrations main responsibilities fall into 4 areas:
  1. Definition and delivery of the overall Vehicle Layout
  2. Integrating Systems into the vehicle to deliver system and attribute performance,
  3. Protecting space in the Vehicle for the Customer first experience
  4. Delivering the appropriate package clearance standards for all power packs in the underfloor zone.
  • Proven experience in product design in at least one functional area,
  • Experience of CATIA V5 & V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration desirable. (Other 3D CAD experience will be considered)
  • Structured problem-solving approach & issue management skills,
  • Good communication skills - written, graphical and verbal,
  • Well-rounded knowledge of vehicle types, propulsion systems and sub systems
  • Experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict,
  • A proven ability to work within strict timing constraints,
  • The ability to achieve results in an efficient manner, making effective use of all resources available within the company and outside.

PERFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of using benchmarking tools to support idea generation,
  • The commitment to deliver quality results in a flexible and dynamic team environment,
  • Knowledge of electronic based parts listing and family trees would be advantageous,
  • A working knowledge of Vehicle Packaging roles and responsibilities would be advantageous,
  • Experience of presentation to peers and senior management would be advantageous."
