Experienced Sheet Metal Operatives required in Coventry benefitting from a salary of £22.00 per hour.

An established manufacturer of low volume body in white (BIW) prototype vehicles is looking for a number of Sheet Metal Operative’s to join their team in Coventry on a short term ongoing contract basis.

This role requires a high degree of methodical thinking and attention to detail. Each Sheet Metal Operative will be responsible for their part of the production line, undertaking a number of set processes which will take 2-3 hours.


  • Rework all panel types using techniques and equipment in an efficient manner
  • Metal Finishing to a high standard
  • Hand forming prototype panels from flat sheet metal and aluminium
  • Welding, bolting, riveting using hand and power tools
  • Trimming, filing, grinding, de-burring and metal finishing surfaces
  • Working with quality engineers and supervisors to analysis and eliminate sources and causes of rework
  • Ensuring panel quality requirements and checks are carried out as required
  • Ensuring all required paperwork / labels are correctly completed and filed as necessary
  • Ensuring housekeeping is to the highest standard
  • Working in a safe manner and highlighting any health and safety risks
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with the Company’s quality accreditation


  • Qualified in a related subject is desirable
  • Sheet Metal experience within a manufacturing or automotive company
  • Metal finishing experience to a high standard
  • Resistance Welding experience
  • Assembly and Setting experience
  • MIG & TIG Welding (desirable)
  • Hammer Forming (desirable)
  • Experience on Laser Fixtures (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good verbal and numerical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility with hours to meet business needs

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week

Monday – Thursday: 7.30am – 6pm

Overtime available
