Permanent Position on a Part Time Basis  

Salary: £19,968 - £24,960 per annum based on 24 hours per week

We are currently seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join a dynamic team in the Paint Shop department. A part time position with the freedom to set your own working hours for the week to suit your lifestyle. With free parking onsite. Working within the Automotive industry in prototype manufacturing with clients including major OEMs, motorsport entities and concept show car builds.

You will work in a modern, bright, and spacious facility which operates on a day-shift schedule, Monday to Friday (7:00 am – 3:30 pm). This position offers flexibility and allows you to choose which days of the week suit you. Once chosen this will be your set working schedule.

The ideal person will have hands-on experience in Prep, Paint, and Polish techniques and a strong understanding of manufacturer expectations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining standards and ensuring that the work consistently meets the highest standards.

What the job entails:

  • Oversee and ensure the standard of work across the Paint Shop, including Prep, Paint, and Polish stages.
  • Ensure all work aligns with manufacturer standards and meets customer expectations.
  • Support the ISO 9001 audit process, ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of in-process and finished work to guarantee adherence to specifications.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the team and address any related issues promptly.
  • Accurately maintain and update all workshop documentation and records, ensuring all paperwork is filed correctly.
  • Use computer systems to record data, complete reports, and support audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the workshop team to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow and ensure project deadlines are met.

The ideal person for the job:

  • Experience in a Paint Shop environment, specifically with Prep, Paint, and Polish techniques.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturer standards and quality expectations.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 audits and supporting quality management systems.
  • Computer literacy is essential, with the ability to update and maintain records accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
