Maintenance Electrician 

Salary: £13.64 - 15.67 per hour depending on experience

Hours: Mon-Thurs: 8.00am – 4.30pm and Fri: 8.00am – 1.00pm

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experience Maintenance Electrician to join an international engineering brand in Warwick.

This is a temporary ongoing position with long term opportunities available for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, and as part of the Facilities and Maintenance High Performing Team you will be required to contribute to the effective maintenance of manufacturing processes and facilities that will enable the reduction and elimination of machine/process downtime.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Undertake mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Input and setting up maintenance schedules through the planned PM system
  • Ensure that any health and safety guidelines are followed in accordance with the EHS organizational arrangements roles and responsibilities, including maintaining (and improving where possible) 5S standards and ensuring that the correct PPE is worn
  • Be able to dynamically risk assess and ensure these are adhered to in all lines of work
  • Supporting production through rapid response and troubleshooting to correct faults/breakdowns occurring with processes and facilities and ensuring that the correct spare parts are available for key processes
  • Data collection for machines to understand key department metrics
  • Work with Production Engineers to improve production processes through fault diagnosis and moving of production processes
  • Daily completion of assigned maintenance schedules
  • Ensure that machine files and records are kept up to date
  • Ensure that machines meet legal requirements, using tools such as PUWER assessments to ascertain that they are compliant, after any repairs
  • Involvement in the High Performing Team including monitoring the Team Improvement Board and 5S standards within the department stream
  • Undertake relevant actions from 5S and recommendations from the Team Improvement Board
  • Work closely with the EHS department to ensure legal requirements are met
  • Support the Facilities and Maintenance Manager with diagnosis and remedial action in the event of a site evacuation
  • Supporting MSDE with energy reduction programmes
  • Raising purchase orders for critical spares and miscellaneous department spend

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Completed time served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent (ONC, HND)
  • CCNSG (safety passport or equivalent)
  • Fault finding on plc and control systems (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Omron) 
  • Full understanding of 17th / 18th Edition wiring regulations BS 7671:2008 
  • Full understanding of Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience in fault finding on CNC equipment (Citizen, Doosan, OKK, Studer, Mazak, Wickman, Hardinge)
  • IPAF or equivalent licence to drive mobile elevated work platform
  • Previous experience of a production environment
  • Demonstrate experience and full understanding of 3 phase speed controllers - Desired
  • NVQ 2 in Mechanical skills – Desired
