Engineering Customer Service Technician

A bespoke engineering business based in Warwick are seeking a Customer Service Technician to join their team.  This role will offer a wide variety of responsibilities including customer service, sales processing, providing technical assistance to customers, assisting with goods in/out and ensuring quality assurance.  This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small team of professionals that provide a bespoke service to their clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1)      Customer Service – Act as primary contact for general customer enquiries, monitoring customer delivery requirements ensuring on-time delivery and assisting with Account Management of key customers

2)      Sales processing – Processing customer sales enquiries and compiling quotations, assisting with Internal Sales and order processing and supporting the development of operational processes within the sales office

3)      Technical assistance - Assisting with the technical selection of processing products (training provided), managing supplier warranty claims and inspecting warranty returns and writing summary reports

4)      Purchasing - Assisting with placing purchase orders and monitoring supplier on-time delivery

5)      Goods in/out - Preparing documentation for despatch of goods, supporting with the packing or unpacking of goods if necessary, assisting with booking of couriers or transport for shipments and processing documentation for incoming goods

6)      Quality assurance – Assisting with internal audits for ISO 9001:2015 and following standard company procedures


  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision or direction
  • Always acting in a professional manner and representing the business in a professional way
  • To comply with all Company policies and procedures and undertake any training as required
  • To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities and guidelines

Skills required:

  • With this being a small company the need for versatility and flexibility are of paramount importance
  • Commercial and customer service experience
  • Technical experience (preferably in mechanical components)
  • IT skills (MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Tenacity and willingness to “get the job done”
  • A good level of numeracy along with IT literacy
