Shift: Days – 40 hours per week
The duties and responsibilities of the EDS Engineer:
- Expertise in the field of Electrical wiring harness design and development, data management, project management, co-ordination in automotive and\or passenger Vehicles
- Must be proficient in CAD platform: Catia V5 (electrical workbench). Extensive design experience of Electrical routings & packaging, System Engineering and Engineering change management projects for Automotive.
- Update harness based on packaging relocation and informed to system integration engineering team.
- Develop effective routing paths of 3D model with the help of retainers, channels, grommets.
- Create 3D CAD and electrification library part of approved retainers, connector, GND terminals, and coverings.
- Selection of proper retention items (e.g., retention clips, cable ties, etc.) while 3D model routing.
- Selection of harness coverings based on 3D model routing and packaging & surrounding geometry.
- Develop harness packaging issues list and drive resolution prior to validation builds.
- Systems Design Reviews with respective groups prior to 3D harness release.
- Release 3D Harness Assembly Model in PLM .
- Experience of various change management processes like Engineering Change Requests etc.
- Designing wiring harness with the help of CAD tools. Building the concept of Harness communization for different automotive variants.
- Must be able to guide a small team of CAD engineers technically if needed.
The ideal experience for the EDS Engineer:
- Engineering knowledge & Experience of activities (Wire Harness Design, DFMEA for passenger Vehicles)
- Excellent communications skills demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
- Experience of using industry standard ECR processes.
- PC Literacy: CAD review systems, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.
- Significant experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, DFM, DFA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline with an experience of 3 to 5 years in automotive industry or equivalent experience.
