The Polisher role:
We are currently seeking a proficient Carbon Panel Polisher to play a crucial role in the meticulous restoration and presentation of luxurious carbon fibre panels and parts. This opportunity offers competitive pay rates on a long-term contract basis. You will work in a modern, bright, and spacious facility. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team that values a positive attitude and fosters a family culture.
Working hours:
We understand that every individual’s circumstances are different – with this in mind, you can take your pick of 3 shifts which will be fixed for you to allow a better work-life balance to suit your needs!
- Earlies: 6am – 2pm (Monday – Friday)
- Lates: 2pm – 10pm (Monday – Friday)
- Nights: 10pm – 6am (Sunday – Thursday)
Responsibilities of the Carbon Panel Polisher:
Surface Evaluation and Material Preparation:
- Inspect carbon fibre panels for defects or imperfections.
- Assess the paintwork's condition, identifying areas with oxidation, fading, or damage.
- Inspect for visible scratches, swirl marks, or imperfections requiring special attention.
Polishing:
- Sand, buff panels to remove old paint, imperfections, or contaminants.
- Choose suitable polishing compounds and pads based on paint condition and desired correction level.
SMART Repairs:
- Evaluating minor dents, scratches, scuffs, chips, or bumper damage to determine the appropriate repair method.
- Surface Preparation - Cleaning and prepping the damaged area by sanding, masking, and priming, ensuring it is ready for the repair process.
- Mixing and applying paint to match the car's original colour, often using spot repair techniques to blend the paint seamlessly with the surrounding area.
- Using specialised tools and techniques to remove small dents without the need for repainting, known as Paintless Dent Removal (PDR).
- Polishing the repaired area to restore the car’s finish and ensure the repair is indistinguishable from the original paintwork.
- Inspecting the completed repair to ensure it meets high standards, ensuring the damage is no longer visible, and the finish is smooth.
Documentation, Safety Compliance, and Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and any issues encountered.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations when handling hazardous materials.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry trends.
Team Collaboration and Equipment Maintenance:
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Communicate any issues or concerns regarding the prepping process.
- Clean and maintain prepping tools and equipment for optimal performance.
