Automotive Junior Electrician required to join a leading designer and producer of high-performance all-terrain vehicles based in Belper on a permanent basis.
We are seeking a Automotive Junior Electrician with the ambition and drive to join a world leading automotive company. They have been the UK pioneer of Rally Raid racing cars and have since become a market leader in the design and production of high-performance vehicles developing some of the most innovative, durable and exciting all-terrain vehicles currently in production.

This position is based in Belper and offered on a permanent basis with ongoing in-house training that will provide the skills to leave you a cut above the rest. The salary for this position will be discussed upon application.
The Role:
This is an exciting and fast-moving role that will require the Automotive Junior Electrician to be highly organised, comfortable multitasking and able to prioritise workloads. The Junior Auto Electrician will be supporting in vehicle builds & electrical sub-assemblies in the workshop and work closely with development teams on harness layouts, vehicle schematics and i-0 lists as well as building the harnesses themselves.
The Automotive Junior Electrician will provide support in the build and repair of vehicle electrical systems to the manufacturer’s agreed specification. Carrying out diagnostic investigations on reported vehicle defects using laptops, multi-meters and other test equipment will also be required. This role provides variety and will allow for the successful Automotive Junior Electrician to expand on their working knowledge of modern automotive systems, electrical systems, circuit diagrams and components.
This position is ideal for individuals who have a core understanding of Electrics from an apprenticeship or higher education discipline with the drive, commitment, and ambition to learn and develop their practical skills through on-the-job training working on high-performance vehicles. Previous automotive experience is desirable.
Key Responsibilities of the Automotive Junior Electrician
Support vehicle builds in the workshop
Assist in building wiring harnesses
Assist with development of harness layouts, vehicle schematics and i-0 lists
Read and clear fault codes from all ECU’S
Learn to Re-flash all ECUs on the vehicle
Use of CANalyzer to take a trace from a vehicle
Record/ report issues on vehicle/harness build and vehicles in service
Carry out fault finding / diagnostics
Report and record change requests on harness development
Support in building electrical sub-assemblies
Assist in productionising electrical harnesses
Support with site uplift activities
Support with electrical investigations – CPAP system
Support with the engineering change request process.
Assist with event, race, and rally activities when required.
Skills and experience needed:
Electrical related education e.g., apprenticeship, HNC, Diploma
Previous experience of an automotive nature is desirable
Some knowledge of fault finding and tracing
Willingness to learn and expand your skill set
Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 8.00am – 17.15pm
Friday: 8.00am – 14.15pm
