Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stores Operative to join a fast-paced logistics team within the automotive sector. Working within a high-quality, bespoke automotive environment, you will support the effective receipt, storage, control and movement of parts and components.
The Stores Operative will play an important role in maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring parts are available to support vehicle production and restoration activities.
Role & Responsibilities
• Receive incoming parts and manage the goods-in process efficiently.
• Check and verify incoming goods, identifying discrepancies and communicating these to the purchasing team.
• Accurately locate and store parts within the designated storage facility.
• Pick individual parts and prepare component kits to support operational requirements.
• Operate barcode and stock control systems accurately to maintain inventory records.
• Bag, label and package parts appropriately, ensuring components are protected and clearly identified.
• Prepare parts on trolleys with the appropriate manifests.
• Conduct regular stock audits and investigate or escalate inventory discrepancies.
• Accurately record and report shortages.
Requirements Of The Role
• Previous warehouse or stores experience.
• Experience using warehouse management and stock control systems, such as SAP or Sage.
• Strong numerical literacy and attention to detail.
• Automotive parts and accessories experience is advantageous, although experience within other niche manufacturing environments will also be considered.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to undertake manual handling and regular heavy lifting.
• Strong data analysis skills to support effective decision-making.
• Logical and effective approach to problem-solving.
• Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
• The successful Stores Operative will be comfortable working within a busy, quality-focused environment.
