Role Summary

We are recruiting for a Sales Administrator to support customer enquiries, quotations and order processing for a specialist supplier of industrial drives, power transmission components and engineering solutions that help keep customers’ machinery and production lines running.

This is a customer-focused role suited to someone who is organised, accurate and happy speaking with customers over the phone. You will support the day-to-day sales process, maintain accurate records and proactively follow up on customer enquiries and orders.

Previous sales or administration experience would be beneficial, but an engineering background is not required. This role would be ideal for someone who wants to learn about engineering products and applications and is interested in developing into a more technical role over time.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries by telephone and email, providing friendly and professional sales support.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, including pricing, delivery details and product information, with technical input from colleagues where needed.
  • Process sales orders accurately and support weekly customer delivery schedules.
  • Carry out day-to-day sales administration, keeping customer, quotation and order records organised and up to date.
  • Enter and update customer and order data accurately, checking details to help prevent errors.
  • Proactively reach out to customers by phone and email to follow up on quotations, clarify requirements and provide order updates.
  • Order goods from suppliers and coordinate deliveries to meet agreed customer deadlines.
  • Support outbound customer contact and identify opportunities to offer relevant products, seeking advice from colleagues as needed.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve queries and gradually build knowledge of the company’s engineering products and applications.
  • Take a proactive approach to organising and prioritising daily work, using initiative and asking for support when needed.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service or administration would be beneficial.
  • Happy speaking with customers over the phone and comfortable proactively reaching out to follow up on enquiries, quotations and orders.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate data entry skills and an organised approach to sales administration and order processing.
  • An interest in learning about engineering products and applications, with a desire to develop into a more technical role; previous engineering experience is not required.
  • Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM or order processing systems would be advantageous, alongside a willingness to learn new systems.

Candidate Profile

This Sales Administrator role will suit someone who enjoys customer contact, takes pride in accurate work and is proactive about keeping enquiries and orders moving.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in engineering to build product knowledge through a sales administration role and work towards a more technical role over time.
