Manufacturing Engineering Administrator

Role Summary

An excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Administrator to support manufacturing engineering activities within a fast-paced automotive environment.

The Manufacturing Engineering Administrator will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation, supporting engineering administration activities, managing technical data, and ensuring manufacturing information is accurately documented and communicated.

This Manufacturing Engineering Administrator position combines technical authoring, process documentation, engineering administration, and stakeholder coordination.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Create, update and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, SOPs, manufacturing process documentation and reports.
  • Translate engineering and manufacturing information into clear, concise documentation with support from Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Produce and maintain assembly instructions, process sheets, visual work instructions and operator guidance.
  • Ensure documentation complies with company standards, engineering procedures and document control requirements.
  • Review and proofread technical documentation for accuracy, clarity and consistency.
  • Support the introduction of new products, processes and manufacturing technologies through technical documentation.
  • Maintain revision histories and ensure obsolete documentation is appropriately controlled.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Maintain engineering databases, trackers and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with manufacturing process documentation, equipment records and engineering standards.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineers with the preparation and organisation of technical data within SharePoint.

Requirements of the Role

  • Experience in technical authoring, engineering administration, manufacturing engineering support or a similar role.
  • Experience within automotive, aerospace, manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical and engineering information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Confident working with engineers, production teams, quality teams and technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Understanding of BOMs and manufacturing assemblies.
  • Experience creating visual work instructions and technical documents.
