Role Summary
An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing process development and continuous improvement within a fast-paced aerospace environment. You will be responsible for creating CNC programmes, developing tooling and manufacturing methods, resolving production challenges, and driving process improvements to ensure the efficient manufacture of high-quality products.
Role & Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer
- Create CNC programmes to support the industrialisation of new and existing components.
- Develop manufacturing routings, tooling solutions, and rework/salvage schemes.
- Support PFMEA activities and Zero-Defect initiatives to improve First Pass Yield and reduce non-conformance.
- Develop and validate manufacturing methods for new and existing products.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, manufacturing instructions, routings, and BOMs.
- Collaborate with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing process issues to minimise downtime and improve delivery performance.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Support and train production personnel on new processes, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
- Manage multiple engineering projects and support new product introduction activities.
Requirements of a Manufacturing Engineer
- Proven experience within a Manufacturing Engineer position in a precision engineering or aerospace environment.
- Strong CNC programming experience, including turning and milling on 5-axis machines.
- Proficient in Mastercam and SolidWorks.
- Experience creating tooling designs, fixtures, and manufacturing documentation.
- Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
